For those of you into keeping score, Obama just took a thumping by Congress. My hope is that this will actually mean something in the federal government. Paul Ryan, a House Republican, announced that the House of Representatives just voted for the Pathway to Prosperity and the Senate voted down the President’s budget.
There was a rally outside one of the state capitol buildings for, what appeared to be, unions. These people who, I, Buk Carmichael, assume, want to work, were wearing shirts and carrying signs the said “no right to work”. I just don’t understand this obvious contradiction. What they mean is, don’t let people work if they are making less money and receiving fewer benefits than union members.
I came from a place where many union members lived, it’s called blue collar. I didn’t have a clue as to what that really meant. I also know of union members that quit there jobs in order to collect unemployment, only to put their names back in the book to go back to work.
i know a teenager who worked in a supermarket and was forced to join a union. Subsequently, she got fired–or set up–because she had an adolescent chip on her shoulder, and the union didn’t do squat to help her; even though she paid her union dues.
Needless to say, I have a very dim view of unions. Perhaps there was a time when they may have been useful, but as far as I can tell, they are power hungry demagogues that have worn out their welcome in the U.S. and can go back to Europe from whence they came. It is thought that the trade union, or the solidarity of labor for collective bargaining, began in Europe in the 19th century. It may have been an outgrowth of the medieval guild system. The labor unions in the U.S. originally fought for safe working conditions, fair wages and health care. However, during the great depression, communism sunk its claws into a sick economy and made pals with the democrat party, starting with Franklin Delano Roosevelt. This leads us to the mess that we find ourselves in today. The idea that so-called union workers are lobbying legislators to force non-union workers to join unions or don’t work, is the apex of absurdity. They want to outlaw the right to work.
How did all this power fall into the union lap? Let’s begin with the 1935 National Labor Relations Act. This federal law limits the ability of employers to react to private sector workers, who create labor unions, and engage in forms of intimidation to get their demands met. The 1947 Labor–Management Relations Act is supposed to monitor the activities and control of labor unions. This law also authorized states to disallow union security clauses, whereby a non-union member is compelled to join a union or loose their job. The states can pass right-to-work laws, preventing unions from negotiating contracts. Right-to-work laws allow companies to hire workers, and not have those workers be compelled to become union members. That was back in 1947 and even in this bleak economy with high unemployment, unions still want to force workers to join unions or not be allowed to work.
Simply put, unions are an outgrowth of the good-old-boy system. But make no mistake about it, unions are big business! They, with many communists are in control of the Democrat party. So, as you consider who you want to vote for, and which party you think best represents your interests, consider that the Democrats do not want you to have a right to work. Consider that unions are no better than big tobacco or big oil. Consider that out of the top 20 donors to the Democrat party, 15 of those donors are unions. The Democrat party is no longer for the working guy, the unions will make certain of that.
One of the obvious things regarding the presidency of B. Hussein Obama is his contempt for liberty. Another hallmark of the Declaration of Independence is that all mankind has the right to life; this too is being dismissed by B-HO. Although we have become deluded by the mass media that we are all happy, many, many people don’t seem really happy at all. The drum beat of the president is, let the government take care of all your needs and you’ll be happy. There is something inherently evil about this president.
It seems ironic that John Locke is the father of Classical Liberalism, the philosophy committed to the ideal of limited government, constitutionalism, jurisprudence, due process of law, and freedom of individuals. Today this would be considered right wing radical thinking and very conservative. The clash is really between the ideas of Locke and Marx, between Individual liberty and the total control of the state. If you listen carefully to the words of B. Hussein Obama, you will hear about the state, but you won’t hear about liberty.
In fact, the one thing the Obama doesn’t address is liberty. What makes Obama a terrible president of the United States is the fact he doesn’t defend our right to be free. And it’s not only the U.S., he rejected the cause of the Iranian Freedom fighters, he wouldn’t acknowledge the cause of Cuba’s pro-democracy movement, and on and on he goes. So how did such a miscreant become president of the United States? My hunch is that the whole system is so corrupt that no one really noticed that another fox had just entered the hen house. Only this wasn’t a fox, it was a rat.
So it goes with life. Obama is the most pro-abortion president that this country has ever had. Barack Obama voted no on a bill, when he was an Illinois senator, that would protect the life of an infant that survived an abortion. His reasoning was that the bill would have infringed on Roe V. Wade. And so he believes in the death of innocent children; so much for life. Now Barack Obama wants to take away the right of freedom of religion by forcing Christian churches to pay for contraceptive and abortifacients. B. Hussein Obama is truly the pro-death president.
With what little liberty we have left, we need to exercise in the voting booth. As long as we still have the freedom to vote, we must vote him out of office. He has proven himself a dishonest and corrupt president. We must be rid of this clown. Let us reflect on the words of the great patriot Patrick Henry, “Give me liberty or Give me death.
In light of the case of George Zimmerman allegedly shooting Trayvon Martin, I am reflecting on the mob rule mentality of the U.S. culture. First of all this shooting is tragic. The loss of life is seldom a thing to be joyous about. But, we seem to be influenced to throw out all notion of jurisprudence and believe that Zimmerman is a racist out to kill blackie. But there is always more to the story. First of all, no one knows for sure what happened that night, except Zimmerman and Martin; and Martin is not doing any talking. If I were to put myself in Zimmerman’s shoes, I’d be feeling very unsettled right now. As far as the media and the left are concerned, it’s got nothing to do with a real human tragedy, but more about what their agenda is.
It seems that the left and the media want to take a walk down memory lane to a time when Jim Crow was alive and well. Let’s all take a look at Emmett Till and compare Trayvon Martin to this crime. I remember as a child, the struggle our country went through during Civil Rights, the march of the Freedom Fighters, and the Leadership of Martin Luther King Jr. What the media doesn’t want you to know is that King was a Republican and many Caucasians walked side by side with Negroes championing the civil rights of all people of the United States. We have forgotten the true intent of this movement. It wasn’t so much about race as it was about freedom, and judging a person’s character, not the color of their skin.
Yet the media and the left will lead you to believe that racism is alive and well in America. Why don’t we call a spade a spade, and tell it like it is; the media and left are inciting this hatred nouveau. It has to do with the destruction of America by dividing its citizens. It’s about mob rule. If the left can get everyone so worked up, and lynch Zimmerman without his day in court, then real justice would be done. But this is a travesty of justice. We don’t have any facts. And the media is reporting this as racially motivated. When the media broke this story, I thought that Zimmerman was white. I find out that he was Hispanic and a good citizen, when I did some digging into the story myself.
It turns out that the community where Zimmerman lives has had a rash of burglaries by black males, 13 in total. It turns out that Zimmerman regularly took underprivileged children, many of them black, to outings so they could have positive experiences. It turns out that Zimmerman was looking out for his neighbors. All we have on Trayvon Martin is a five year old photo of him to make him look innocent. Other than that, we don’t know if this guy was a punk or a gang banger. We simply don’t know. I found this photo on Angry White Dude’s site. http://angrywhitedude.com/ You decide.
So, before we take the bait and believe this fabrication to be a true story, let’s remember that one of the tenants of this republic is due process, that one is presumed innocent until proved guilty under the law. Zimmerman will probably be dragged into court. I just hope we don’t return to the days of the villagers, pitchforks, sickles and burning torches in hand demanding that an innocent person be killed. Let’s keep the days of witch hunting in the past. I hope that we will continue to have the right to defend our homes and ourselves.
Look around you. What is it that you see? Oh sure, you most likely have a lovely home with all the decor of any self respecting post-modernist. But what is it really? What have we become? I was reflecting on the death of Davey Jones. When I was in fourth grade, I recall meeting my buddies during recess and chatting about last night’s episode of the Monkees. We spoke as if they really existed as people. Although, part of me knew that it was make believe, it was during that brief period when I and my chums, would suspend belief and engage in fantasy.
The problem is most people haven’t learned that television, movies and sports are only pretend. We have procreated a few generations of devout believers in pretend. Let’s pretend that drinking alcohol will be fun, as we drive our cars and smash them into other drivers, killing and maiming each other. Let’s pretend that we can just have sex with anyone, as we conceive children, just to have them murdered, because they’re too inconvenient. Let’s pretend that the government will pay for all our stuff, while the economy goes down the toilet and we make our children and grandchildren pay for this free ride. Where do you draw the line between the phony and the real?
Before you even think that you can answer that, turn off all your electronic devices. That’s right, turn off your television, radios, cell phones. Now go and ponder the question. Can you even tolerate the real? Are you able to confront a life of tangibility? How about we consider that this world we live in is actually a creation of God. We need to stop paying homage to our own images. Let’s stop pretending and start living.
As I sat watching a documentary about Appalachia, it occurred to me that the United States of America is suffering from an identity crisis. Who are we? Where did we come from and where are we going. I come from a small town in Illinois, but I am not going to be buried there when I die. So I have nowhere to call home in the land of my birth. It’s not only a lack of culture that this country suffers from; it is a lack of identity. We have come from somewhere else beyond the edges of this country. Yet we have no identity.
We will soon be electing a leader for this country. But it’s not the issues that will decide how we will cast our vote. It is our identity, who we are, that will determine what sort of person best represents the character of this country. The question of, “what do we want?” is insufficient. The question needs to be, “Who are we?” The United States seems to have elected someone who represents the wants of the masses, rather than a leader who identifies with the distinctiveness of the country. What is American-ness?
We are a unique country that has discarded the cultural genesis from which it came. The music, visual art, sports, and technology have all somehow come from other parts of the world and amalgamated into what is known as Americana. However, within the last 20 years, culture has abandoned what truly identified American identity. Somehow, popular culture dictates that our collective sexual desires are the very essence of what defines America. How have we slipped so far down the cultural scale?
The leadership most needed in this country is to illuminate what it is to be American. We don’t need a leader who will grant us all bread and circus. We all know what we need. What is important is to know who my brothers and sisters are my fellow Americans. What makes me identifiable with them? How do I know that these people are Americans? We have lost our real leader the one who has truly created freedom for all mankind. That one is God. We ought to turn to Him, ask for his mercy, thank him for all of our blessings and plead for his divine providence.
It seemed like January when I noticed a twinge in the left side of my chest. Chest and pain never go good together. I started working out at the end of 2011, so I chalked it up to unused muscles. After a strenuous workout, I would head to the hot tub and sauna to loosen up the muscles and get a final relax before heading off to work. But the pain persisted. After a couple of months, I began to take notice of the persistent pain. But it wasn’t until I developed a chest cold and went to a doctor that I finally said something to a medical profession.
Although I was there for cold symptoms, I mentioned that I twisted my knee playing racquetball and I’m experiencing a pain in my chest. The doctor had already used the stethoscope and listened to my heart. He examined my mobility. Then he said, “If it doesn’t clear up in a few weeks, come back in.” Well a few weeks past and the pain became worse. I couldn’t sleep at night. The pain was so great, that I could roll over because the pain rendered me immobile. So I made another appointment.
This time a different doctor took a little closer look. Again, he checked my mobility. Then he sent me down for some blood work and x-rays. After the blood was drawn and the X-rays taken, the technician said that I could go home. I went home and never heard from the doctor. For three days I hadn’t heard from the doctor. This put me into the weekend with excruciating pain at night. Finally, I got back to my office on Monday and called the doctor. The receptionist on the other end of the call said, “We were wondering what happened to you.” “I was told to go home by the technician.” I explained. “O, the doctor wanted you to come back after the tests.” She responded. Well that was news to me.
Over the weekend on Sunday night, I filled a hot water bottle with very hot water. I put it on my chest shoulder area and went to sleep. This seemed to alleviate much of the pain. After talking to the doctor’s office, I began to realize that I just threw money out the window to seek medical help from the doctor. The receptionist said that the tests looked fine. I explained to her that I’m still in pain. She told me to make another appointment. I diagnosed myself and decided to live with the pain.
The video of marines urinating on dead militants, the burning of the Korans and now today the killing of alleged killing of civilians in Afghanistan; these are things that are obvious errors in a military action. Now I’m no military man, but someone’s in charge of this mess. In 2007 the military was holding its own in Afghanistan, but now it’s turned into a circus. During the 2008 presidential campaign, the topic of commander in chief came up. How would B. Hussein Obama run the military?
Well, now we know what kind of commander in chief he is. And he’s failing at it miserably. After the Abu Ghraib fiasco, the press made hay with all the alleged torture and didn’t hesitate to blame G.W. Bush. So now that the current incompetent in chief has royally screwed things up in Afghanistan, where is the outrage against B-HO? The media is complicit in the destruction of the United States of America. They don’t want B-HO to be held accountable, they want America destroyed. But it is that they are obviously overlooking the ineptitude of B-HO.
When G.W. Bush was in office, Afghanistan was a manageable conflict. We were building roads, building schools and the Afghans kind of liked the U.S. Now since B. (As in bonehead) Obama took charge of the military, the whole thing has fallen apart. Obviously, morale with the ranks has plummeted. Of course, there needs to be military disciplinary action taken against the offending troops. But the blame ought to fall squarely on Barack Obama for failing in his duties as commander in chief. It is he who should suffer the consequences.
Over the months, possibly the years I’ve noticed a steady decline of the bathroom of my home on the first floor. The walls had never been painted and the original paint that appeared on the walls when I and the missus purchased the old farm house. For all I know, this could have been the paint the old farmer put on in the 1950’s. The toilet was giving me problems and would develop a leak around the base. Gaining a little handy-man knowledge for my dad, I replaced the wax ring three times and it still managed to leak.
The missus noticed the leak first, as she does. I feigned interest, knowing one day I would regret procrastinating on such ominous trouble. Spring break was in a few weeks, so I put off the inevitable. During that time the suspended ceiling started to sag in a most unflattering way. The floor began to develop dark areas where the leak had penetrated beneath the top most surface. The missus had placed a towel around the base of the toilet so as to prevent surface water from gathering. The towel looked like a scarf that an English gentleman might wear around his neck in the cold season. I tried not to look at it. This was a project for spring break just a week away.
At last, spring break! The time for rest and relaxation was upon us, and I aimed to make the most of it. From the corner of my eye I could see the degradation that consumed my bathroom. As I briskly walked past the commode, I could hear the last whimpers of an ailing shit house. “If I continue to ignore this travesty, perhaps it will repair itself and I will be completely off the hook” I thought. Then Tuesday came, the second day of spring break, I told the missus “We got to take off that toilet and check it out.” There is something humbling about kneeling in front of the toilet, in a totally sober state of mind. I turned off the water, emptied out the tank and bowl, unhooked the water connections, unscrewed the floor bolts and ripped the son-of-a-bitch from the floor. The missus and I dragged the filthy commode to the living outside the bathroom and there it sat.
There is no worse feeling than unintentional commitment. Now, I had to act. But I knew I was over my head. I did the only thing a self respecting man of the house would do, call a contractor. So the next day he arrived, with his assistant and ripped the floor out and replace the floor board. Even the well seasoned construction worker couldn’t get right to the matter. So I was relieved that I made the right choice and called him. But the real work was yet to begin. So I and the missus replaced the flooring, painted in a pretty powder blue, re-caulked put everything back. The icing on the cake was going out and buying new towels and bath rug. It was work, but worth all the effort.
As I was doing the renovations, I couldn’t help but strike a parallel with the decrepit state of my bathroom and the decrepit state of the United States. It is uncanny how B. Obama has made our country into a shit house in disrepair. Let’s face it the U.S. is in need of some serious renovation. The first thing that needs replacing is to flush out Barack Obama. At this point I would be happy to call upon the expertise of someone like Ron Paul to help with the reconstruction. Although he may be more of a hatchet man than presidential, anyone of the GOP contenders would be a fine president over B-HO. Because, right now, the U.S. is in the toilet and it ain’t smelling so good.
So as I reworked my bathroom, I thought of the plan to rework America. First, rip out the moldy, smelly junk that is currently occupying the White House. Do not get any union help. They would keep the country in a state of disrepair. Use regular folks, real Americans. Throw the junk into the junk heap or burn it, just get rid of it. Next, shore up the faulty flooring and make it solid, to hold the burden of years and years of neglect and abuse. Finally, clean up the country; make it presentable, so the president doesn’t have to apologize for its condition. Put on a new coat of paint, trim up the details and polish the chrome. Make it sparkle once again. Let’s face it, America is the place where most of the world’s wasted people, from other countries, people who know that they have an opportunity to be free in America, can come to the U.S. and flush away the restrictions they experienced.
Perhaps America is a beautiful restroom, with beautiful floors, abundant resources, serviced by the finest workers. We and the whole world can come here and relieve ourselves of the oppressive governments that keep others bound up. All can come to America, to wash off the filth of the world and refresh the soul. We can see the wonderful decor and stand in awe of the sublime wonders, both natural and man made. America is the place where we can dump the burden of oppression and feel healthy. We ought to have the best place for our brothers and sister to come to and experience life, liberty and pursue happiness. Let’s turn what Obama has made into an outhouse back into the White House.
The election campaign of 2008 and came and went. Do you remember it? Do you remember John McCain? We heard all about his heroic military service, his commitment to our country, we know that he grew up in Virginia. Do you remember Sarah Palin? We heard all about Sarah and her life in Alaska. We got to know all sorts of thing about Sarah Palin. Do you remember Barry Sotero? What you don’t recall him running for president?
That’s the point. We don’t know Barry Sotero because he was going by a different name when he was running for president, Barack Hussein Obama. His opponents couldn’t use his middle name Hussein. That would associate him to Islamic terrorists. So the media, John McCain and the rest of the leftist democrats would not allow his middle name to be used. As a matter of fact, the media would not use any of Barack’s or is it Barry’s past to be used in his vetting process. Even though we couldn’t find a proper birth certificate, the press simply turned the other way and did not look into the story. Those who wanted to know more about this candidate were branded wing nuts and called all kinds of filthy names by the democrats. We don’t know anything about whom or what the president of the United States is.
Now we know that he has intimate ties to domestic terrorist like Bill Ayer’s. We know that he has intimate ties to racists like Jeremiah Wright. Yet the press continues to ignore the stories. I think it’s because the media is anti-American. Possibly the democrats are embarrassed that they just don’t know anything about Barry Sotero. Well let the vetting begin this election cycle. Let’s find out the Barack Hussein Obama may be an American hater that he wants to see the U.S.A. fail. Andrew Brietbart, before his untimely death, or was it assassination, announced that he had videos that would continue to shed some light on this spook of a president. We just need to see him in a more tangible form. Sherriff Arpaio is investigating his fraudulent birth certificate and selective service registration card. Both look phony, as phony as Barack is. My hope is that it found that Barack is not be eligible to be the president of the United States, that everything that was done in his presidency will be null and void.
